Thursday’s Jokes, Quotes, Quizzlers and Teases!

WELCOME to THURSDAY January 4. 2023

Here’s The Story……
Spanish singer Julio Iglesias was on television with British TV host Anne Diamond
when he used the Spanish word “manana” (manyana).
Diamond asked him to explain what it meant.
He said that the term means, “Maybe the job will be done tomorrow, maybe the
next day, maybe the day after that. Perhaps next week, next month, next year who cares?”
The host turned to Irishman Shay Brennan who was also on the show
and asked him if there was an equivalent term in Irish.
“No. In Ireland we don’t have a word to describe that degree of urgency.” 😳😳😳
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Have a GREAT THURSDAY, people, stay safe,
and whatever you do, don’t forget to laff it up! Peace, I am outta here! Eucman! 😁

“The next great civilization to arise was Ancient Greece, which came up with
an exciting new governing concept called “democracy,” from the Greek words
dem, meaning “everybody gets to vote,” and ocracy, meaning “except, of
course women, slaves and poor people.” -Dave Barry

“The government announced that some voters will be allowed to vote online.
That’s going to be a tough choice: democracy or porn…democracy or porn.” -Craig Ferguson

The man was in no shape to drive, so he wisely left his car parked and walked home.
As he was walking unsteadily along, he was stopped by a policeman.
“What are you doing out here at 2 A.M.?” asked the officer.
“I’m going to a lecture.”
“And who is going to give a lecture at this hour?” the cop asked.
“My wife.” 😳😳😳😎

Wednesday’s’ Movie Trivia of the day! What movie is this quote from??? “
“Tell ‘im he’s dreaming!”, “That’s goin’ straight to the pool room!” and ‘Just feel the serenity!”

Answer: Michael Caton!
Michael Caton made a very good film so much the better with his fantastic performance as Darryl Kerrigan, the proud patriarch of a family living next to an airport that is planning to expand requiring more land. That includes the Kerrigan home, as in the phrase ‘a man’s home is his castle’.
It is the very funny story of the little Aussie battler trying to hold onto something that is very near and dear to the heart, the family home.
Anyone who hasn’t seen this movie should, any Aussie should’ve already watched this comedy classic!
‘Bud’ Tingwell portrays the QC Lawrence Hammill who goes in to bat for the Kerrigan’s in court.

Thursday’s Movie Trivia of the day! What movie is this quote from???
“People freak out, coz they think I’m handling the stuff. I dunno if they think I eat it,
or whether they think I scrub it on myself… I plumb it.”

Thursday’s Quizzler is….
A spoonerism is a pair of words that can have their initial sounds switched to form new words. The pairs need only sound the same, not necessarily be spelled the same (power saw & sour paw, horse cart & coarse heart). There may sometimes be one or two connecting words (kick the stone & stick the cone, king of the rats & ring of the cats). Given the following definitions, what are the spoonerisms?

1) a circular depression & a part for a canine actor
2) a container for an alcoholic beverage & an insignificant insect
3) a container for a container & the bottom of a coffin
4) a cunning wolf relative & insect foot coverings
