Wednesday’s Jokes, Quotes, Quizzlers and Teases!

WELC0ME to WEDNESDAY JULY 17, 2024

Here’s The Story…..
One of our projects at military leadership school called for us to speak in front
of the class on a topic picked by our instructor. A classmate gave an impassioned
speech on the benefits of drinking liquor. Alcohol, he insisted, warded off colds,
kept you alert, and even made you steadier on your feet.
“Good job,” said our instructor when he finished. “Only one thing: Your topic was
the benefits of drinking liquids, not liquor.” 😳😳
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Have a HAPPY WEDNESDAY!, people, stay safe,
and whatever you do, don’t forget to laff it up! Peace, I am outta here! Eucman! 😁

Tuesday’s Quizzler is….
There are three brothers: Al, Ben, and Carl. Two of the three brothers are boxers. Here are some facts:

  1. The shorter of Al and Ben is the older boxer.
  2. The younger of Ben and Carl is the shorter boxer.
  3. The taller of Al and Carl is the younger boxer.

Which brother is not a boxer?

Answer: Carl is not a boxer.
From fact 1, we know that Carl is not the older boxer.
From fact 3, we know that Ben is not the younger boxer.
We now have three possible scenarios:

  1. Al is the younger boxer and Ben is the older boxer.
  2. Ben is the older boxer and Carl is the younger boxer.
  3. Al is the older boxer and Carl is the younger boxer.

If scenario 1 is true, fact 1 tells us that Ben is shorter than Al.
If scenario 2 is true, fact 1 tells us that Ben is shorter than Al; fact 3 tells us that Carl is taller than Al, making Ben shorter than Carl.
If scenario 3 is true, fact 3 tells us that Carl is taller than Al.
We can now expand our three scenarios:

  1. Al is the younger, taller boxer, and Ben is the older, shorter boxer.
  2. Ben is the older, shorter boxer, and Carl is the younger, taller boxer.
  3. Al is the older, shorter boxer, and Carl is the younger, taller boxer.

Scenario 2 cannot be possible because it contradicts fact 2 by making the younger of Ben and Carl the taller boxer.
Fact 2 also tells us that Al is not the shorter boxer, so scenario 3 cannot be possible, either.
Therefore, scenario 1 is true, which means that Carl is not a boxer.

Wednesday’s Quizzler is….😎😎
Oh no! All of the dogs on Lexington Avenue have run away from home. The owners quickly made police reports and luckily all the dogs were found. But the poor officers mixed up the paper work and can’t figure out who owns which dog, where they were found, and in what order. They are in great need of help. Can you figure it out?

Owners: Sam, Bailey, Chase, Joel, Paige
Dogs: Spot, Wiggles, Butch, Roscoe, Heinz
Locations: Park, Neighbor, Pound, Parking lot, Restaurant
Order: First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth

  1. Heinz’s owner knew exactly where to find his dog, in front of the restaurant where he discovered Heinz as a puppy. That’s why Heinz was safe in bed first.
  2. The 5 dogs are: Wiggles, Joel’s dog, the dog in the parking lot, Chase’s dog, and the last dog found.
  3. Only one owner shares the same initials as his/her dog.
  4. Butch was found before the dog in the pound but after Sam’s dog.
  5. Chase found his dog after Paige.
  6. Spot was found 2nd.
  7. Paige was so happy when her neighbor brought Wiggles home.
