Bror von Blixen-Finecke was the real-life Swedish nobleman described in the autobiographical book “Out of Africa” by Isek Dinesen, pseudonym of the baron’s wife Karen Blixen. Seven Oscars were awarded for this 1985 film. Beginning in the 1960s on stage and on TV, “Mephisto” (1981) started Brandauer’s international career which included “Bond” movie “Never Say Never Again” (1983), “The Russia House” (1990) and “White Fang” (1991)
