WELCOME to THURSDAY FEBRUARY 19th, 2026

Here’s The Story….
A tobacco company sent Dave several packages of cigarettes with the explanation:
“We are sending you some of our finest cigarettes.
We hope you enjoy them and will want more.”
After several months the tobacco company received this reply from Dave:
“I got your cigarettes and soaked them in a quart of water which I sprayed
on my bug-infested rosebushes. Every bug died!
These cigarettes make best poison ever!
Please send me some more next month in case any bugs survived.” 😮
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Have a WONDERFUL THURSDAY people, stay safe,
and whatever you do, don’t forget to laff it up! Peace, I am outta here! Eucman! 😁

One of my first assignments as a trainee in an auto-body shop was
a car needing a new fender and some door repairs.
I spent hours doing a perfect job, but when the
owner came to pick it up, he wasn’t pleased.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
Pointing to the side of the car, he complained about the paint not
matching, uneven gaps between panels, and a host of other problems.
He demanded an explanation.
“The repairs were to the other side,” I noted. 😮😮

Wednesday’s Movie Trivia of the day!
Mr Wilson is an agent set out to find a Nazi war criminal, Franz Kindler, whose true identity has been erased. The only piece of evidence to his identity is a bizarre love of clocks. Mr. Wilson finds himself in the small town of Harper, where he meets Professor Rankin. Though he is unaware at first, a passing comment about Karl Marx as well as a fondness for fixing the town’s main clock indicates that Rankin (played by Orson Welles) is indeed Franz Kindler. Rankin’s wife was also unaware of this; and, now torn between the love she developed with him and the desire to learn more and take down the war criminal, she must make a brave choice.

Answer:  Harper, Connecticut – Orson Welles (1946) The correct answer was The Stranger

Thursdays Movie Trivia of the day!
Marty McFly is a high schooler with an eccentric friend; Emmett “Doc” Brown. One night, Doc invites Marty to the parking lot of Twin Pines Mall, where he has a surprise to show him. When there, Doc shows him a DeLorean, which he has modified into a time machine. Throughout the film, we see Marty go back and forth between the modern 1985 mall and the past where he meets his mother and father. Of course, as time traveling can be dangerous, many events cause changes back in the future, and we see Twin Pines Mall frequently with new updates (including a gag where the destruction of an early tree in 1955 causes a rename to “Lone Pine Mall”). “Back to the Future” is often regarded as one of the greatest films of all time; with a combination of excellent story-telling, fantastic acting and impeccable twists and turns, I tend to agree with critics’ assessment.

Wednesday’s Quizzler is….
Geocaching is the sport of using GPS systems to locate hidden boxes at different geographical locations across the country. Directions and clues are left in the boxes to aid in the journey. Max’s first geocaching expedition took him to the top of five different mountains. He had to hike to the top of each one. On the way he encountered some obstacle. From the clues below, determine the order of the mountains, the height of the mountain, and the obstacle he had to overcome to reach the box.

1 – Neither the first mountain nor the one where Max had trouble with thunderstorm include the word mountain in their name, and neither is as high as Death Grip Mountain.
2 – The third mountain is the lowest of the five.
3 – The mountain which had the wolf pack is higher than Broken Rope Pike.
4 – Max climbed Death Grip Mountain immediately before tackling Widow Peak.
5 – Max encountered a rockslide on the ascent of Free-Fall Peak, and a broken GPS on the highest mountain.
6 – The fourth mountain is covered in 5 ft of snow, and was climbed later than the 6,951 foot Insanity Mountain.

Answer: First was Free-Fall Peak that is 7,493 feet and had a rockslide.
Second was Insanity Mountain that is 6,951 feet and had a wolf pack.
Third was Broken Rope Pike that is 5,671 feet and had a thunderstorm.
Fourth was Death Grip Mountain that is 9,981 feet and had 5 ft of snow.
Fifth was Widow Peak that is 14,886 ft and had a broken GPS.

Thursday’s Quizzler is….😎😎
Diana has been writing poetry for many years and is excited that her first published book of poems will be coming out next year. Her publisher has asked her to write introductions for her poems. From the information given below, can you determine the year each poem was written (1996, 1999, 2001, 2004, or 2009), the occasion or person it was written for, and the style of poetry used (haiku, ode, sonnet, elegy, or free verse)?

  1. “The Tree” was either the earliest poem written or the most recent. The wedding poem was either an ode or a free verse poem. “Dancer” is a haiku but was not written for the contest that took place in the 1990s.
  2. “Summer Harvest” was written for a family member. “Queen Anne” was inspired by a television show about British royalty and was not written in free verse.
  3. The five poems, in no particular order, are: “Confidential”, the free verse poem written in 1996, the sonnet, the poem written for her sister, and the poem written for her mother.
  4. The poem written for a friend’s wedding was written before the sonnet but three years after the haiku.
  5. The poem written in 1999 was written for her mother’s funeral. The ode was not written for her sister nor was it inspired by the television show.
