Petrichor, Cromulent, and Other Words the Internet Loves
The internet loves these words—whether they’re in the dictionary or not
Definition: “A pleasant, distinctive smell frequently accompanying the first rain after a long
period of warm, dry weather in certain regions.” (Oxford English Dictionary)
“one of my favorite word is “Petrichor” i don’t say it a lot though because people just like
to use things with out even knowing the meaning behind it this word mean a lot to me.”
tumblr user. The OED appears to be the only dictionary that has seen fit to include this term, which was
coined in 1964 and first appeared in the journal Nature. It is in many ways the perfect example
of this certain type of word: it describes succinctly a thing that many of us thought there was no
single word for, is likely to confuse almost anyone you use it with, and can instantly shift the
topic of your conversation from what you were talking about to the word you just used.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Have a HAPPY WEEKEND people, stay safe,
and whatever you do, don’t forget to laff it up! Peace, I am outta here! Eucman! 😁

Guaranteed to Roll Your Eyes
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter
clearer, he said: “Now, students, if I stood on my head the blood, as you know,
would run into it, and I should turn red in the face.”
“Yes, sir,” the boys said.
“Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary
position the blood doesn’t run into my feet?”
A little fellow shouted, “‘It’s because yer feet ain’t empty.”
