WELCOME to THURSDAY JANUARY 1st, 2026
Here’s The Story….
Finishing up our work at a trade show in San Diego, my co-worker Maureen and I
decided to go sightseeing across the border in Tijuana, Mexico. While there,
we went shopping and bought a few pieces of clay kitchenware.
As we crossed back into the United States, a customs official asked
if we had anything of value to report.
“Not really,” Maureen replied, digging in her bag for the bean crock she had purchased.
Everyone around us froze as she continued, “I only bought a little pot.” 😮😮
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Have a SUPER GREAT THURSDAY people, stay safe,
and whatever you do, don’t forget to laff it up! Peace, I am outta here! Eucman! 😁

Ten of them will be on the register; the rest will wander around saying,

“California Gov. Jerry Brown is working on a plan to build two tunnels that will bring
water to Southern California. Of course, it’s California, so one tunnel is for flat
water, the other sparkling with lime.” -Conan O’Brien

This goes against the traditional way of eating Nutella, which is with two fingers

I handed the teller at my bank a withdrawal slip for $400.
I said, “I’d like large bills, please.”
She looked at me and said, “I’m sorry sir, all the bills are the same size.”
When I got up off the floor I explained it to her. 😮
Wednesday’s Movie Trivia of the day!
Which 1934 novel by James M. Cain tells of a drifter that falls for the femme fatale owner of a roadhouse diner?
Answer: “The Postman Always Rings Twice” is a highly charged story of sexual chemistry and violence. A drifter stops by a diner owned by a beautiful woman who wants to rid herself of her older husband. Plans are hatched and deeds are duly done but not without a few twists and turns along the way.

There is a big school band concert coming up soon. The band will be playing 5 songs that each have a big solo in them. Each solo is played by a different kid on a different instrument and each song is a different length. Ms. Staccato, who was responsible for making the programs for the concert, dropped all of the papers with the concert information on them! Help her figure out what each kid’s first and last names are, what instrument they play, what song they have a solo in, and how long each song is.
First Names – Seth, Emily, Fred, Tyler, and Carla
Last Names – Taylor, Edwards, Norman, Williams, and Roberts
Instruments – Snare Drum, Timpani, Trumpet, Flute, and Clarinet
Songs – “Bluesville,” “The Red, the White, and the Blues,” “On, Wisconsin,” “Alleluia,” and “Clairvoyance”
Lengths (minutes) – 1:30, 2:30, 3:00, 4:00, 4:30
- The five kids are: Tyler, the one who plays the flute, the one with the last name of Roberts, the one with a solo in Bluesville, and the one that has a solo in the 4:00 song.
- The five songs are: “On, Wisconsin,” the one that has a solo played by Emily, the one that is 3:00 long, the one with a solo played by the kid with the last name of Williams, and the one with a solo played on the timpani.
- No one plays an instrument that has the same first letter as their first name.
- Only 1 person has the same first and last initials.
- Emily doesn’t have a solo in a song that has the word “Blues” in it.
- A girl plays the snare, which is the instrument that has a solo in “Alleluia”.
- The song that has the same first syllable as the instrument that has a solo in it is 1 minute longer than the song with a solo played by the kid with the last name of Taylor.
- The song that the trumpet has a solo in does not have any letters in it that are in the word trumpet.
- The song that has the name of a state in the USA in it is longer than 1:30.
- Bluesville has exactly twice the amount of letters in it as the first name of the kid who has a solo in it.
Notes: “R,W,+ Blues” in the solver stands for “The Red, the White, and the Blues”. Seth, Fred and Tyler are boys; Emily and Carla are girls.
Answer: Seth Norman has a flute solo in “The Red, the White, and the Blues,” which is 3:00 long.
Emily Edwards has a snare drum solo in “Alleluia,” which is 4:00 long.
Fred Roberts has a trumpet solo in “On, Wisconsin,” which is 4:30 long.
Tyler Williams has a clarinet solo in “Clairvoyance,” which is 2:30 long.
Carla Taylor has a timpani solo in “Bluesville,” which is 1:30 long.
These are all real songs and all (except Bluesville) have solos in them played by the instruments in this puzzle.

Five avid scrapbookers from Acres get together every weekend to swap page ideas and discuss the progress that they have made on their scrapbooks during the week. Each scrapbooker focuses on a different event, uses a different colour and a different embellishment. Using the clues below, determine the first and last names of each scrapbooker, the event they focused on, the colour they used, and their preferred embellishment.
- Stella didn’t do a wedding page. One of the men preferred to use the chalking technique for his page.
- Arthur and Stella do not like using tags. The person who did the birthday page thought the colour purple accented their pictures perfectly.
- Mrs. Moss hates using the colour red, regardless of the topic of her pages. Maria’s last name isn’t Harris and she has never done a vacation page.
- The person who did the wedding page, whose last name wasn’t Enfield, was excited about using eyelets for the first time. The person who did a yellow new baby page wasn’t Ruth, but their last name is Harris.
- The five scrapbookers (in no particular order) are: Maria Steele, the man who did the birthday page, the person who used the stamping technique, the one who was pleased with their green page, and Ruth.
- Shane’s last name is not Harris and blue would not have looked right on his page. Red was the perfect colour for the wedding page though, as it is associated with love.
- Stella McKee took so many pictures when she moved into her first house that she just had to use them for her page.
