“A seventh grade teacher in California was arrested for teaching while drunk. Which is
why an entire Earth Science class now thinks hurricanes are formed when rum collides
with lime juice, passion fruit, and crushed ice in a hot pink souvenir
cup from Senor Frog’s.” -Jimmy Fallon
“New research came out that reveals that being attractive in high school leads to success
later in life. So finally some good news for hot, popular teenagers.” -Conan O’Brien
Guaranteed to Roll Your Eyes
Rushing to get to the movies, my husband and I told the kids we had to leave “right now” at which
point our teenage daughter headed for the bathroom to apply makeup. Her dad yelled for her to
get in the car immediately, and headed for the garage grumbling.
On the way to the multiplex my husband glanced in the rearview mirror and caught our teen applying
lipstick and blush, which produced the predictable lecture. “Look at your mom,” he said. “She didn’t
put on any makeup just to go sit in a dark movie theater.”
From the back I heard, “Yeah, but Mom doesn’t need makeup.”
My heart swelling with the compliment, I turned back to thank this sweet, wonderful daughter of mine
just as she continued, “Nobody looks at her.” π³π³π³
Friday’s’ Movie Trivia of the day! What movie is this quote from??? “
“Now what’s wrong with you?”
“You a low down dirty dog, that’s what’s wrong. Time for me to get away from you
and enter Creation, and your dead body’d be just the welcome mat I need.”
Answer: The Color Purple!
This very powerful movie examines the issues of poverty and race, as it traces the life of Celie, a young black woman who lives a brutal life in the early 1900s. Abused by just about everyone who has any power over her, and treated no better than a slave, Celie gains comfort and understanding from her husband’s live-in lover, Shug. When Shug finally leaves, she decides to take Celie with her.
Monday’s Movie Trivia of the day! What movie is this quote from???
“He’s a man from outer space and we’re taking him to his spaceship.”
“Well, can’t he just beam up?”
“This is reality Greg.”
Friday’s Quizzler isβ¦.β
After going through the door to freedom last time, you realize it wasn’t to freedom at all, it was to another room, with another door.
There are six doors this time, all arranged in a straight line. Each has a clue on it. All clues are true.
Door colours: yellow, blue, red, green, purple, and orange.
The clues are:
Yellow door’s clue: This door is 3 spaces away from the purple door.
Blue door’s clue: This door is at the far left.
Red door’s clue: The doors are in a sequence.
Green door’s clue: This door is directly between the blue and yellow doors. It is three spaces away from the door to freedom.
Purple door’s clue: This door is next to the door to freedom.
Orange door’s clue: This door is directly next to the yellow door.
What colour door leads to freedom?
Answer: She peeled a potato, diced it finely, and added it to the stew. The potato absorbed the extra salt and saved the dinner.
