‘My Darling Clementine’ was directed by John Ford and starred Henry Fonda as Wyatt Earp. It was loosely based on the events at the OK corral and featured Victor Mature as ‘Doc’ Holliday with Clementine Carter played by Cathy Downs. The words of the quotation are the final ones of the film, spoken as Wyatt Earp rode away from Tombstone. ‘Laura’ was an Otto Preminger film from 1944 and Belinda was taken from ‘Johnny Belinda’ (1948). ‘The Lady Eve’ is another 1940s film directed by Preston Sturges and starring Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda.

Once this had been done, Ms. Frogster explained to the class what they were to do with the strange looking list they were given.
