WELCOME to FRIDAY OCTOBER 9th, 2026
Here’s The Story…
Brian had asked Dave to help him out with cutting his rather large garden hedge after work,
so Dave went straight over to Brian’s home. When they got to the front door, Brian went straight
up to his wife, gave her a big hug, and told her how beautiful she was and how much he had missed
her at work. When it was time for supper, he complimented his wife on her excellent cooking,
kissed her, and told her how much he loved her.
Once they were cutting the privet, Dave told Brian that he was surprised that he fussed so much
over his wife. Brian said that he’d started this about six months ago, it had revived their marriage,
and things couldn’t be better. Dave thought he’d give it a go.
When he got home, he gave his wife a massive hug, kissed her, and told her that he loved her.
His wife burst into tears. Dave was confused and asked why she was crying. She said, ‘This is the
worst day of my life. First, little Nigel fell off his bike and twisted his ankle. Then, the washing
machine broke and flooded the basement. And now, you come home drunk!’
Have a great day or pretend to! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Have a WONDERFUL MONDAY’ people, stay safe, and whatever you do,

Hilarious Sayings
Vicky, a young single lady visits the local dating agency and explains, ‘I’m looking for a husband.
Can you please help me to find a suitable one?’
The dating receptionist needs to find out some details so she asks, ‘ What are your requirements, please?’
‘Well, let me see.’ Vicky says, ‘He needs to be fine looking, polite, humorous, sporty, knowledgeable,
good at singing and dancing. Willing to accompany me the whole day at home during my leisure hours,
if I don’t go out. Telling me interesting stories when I need a companion
for conversation and being silent when I want to rest.’
The receptionist listens politely and carefully and responds, ‘I understand. You need a television.’ 😳
FRIDAY’s Movie Trivia of the day!
Prison Break number 3!
Answer: The Great Escape!
Directed by John Sturges, “The Great Escape” (1963) has an epic quality about it. Set in a World War II prisoner of war camp (Stalag), we are not being asked to bear witness to the possible escape of one or two prisoners but, daringly, the entire prison population. There are so many ingredients to this film that draw upon our affections – the strength and the courage of the prisoners, their camaraderie under the most adverse of conditions, the planning, the preparation and the execution of the escape and, ultimately, the suspense surrounding which of the prisoners will make it and who won’t. Add to this an incredible line-up of stars, including the “King of Cool”, Steve McQueen (in another escape movie), James Garner, Charles Bronson and Richard Attenborough. The movie also produces one of filmdom’s most iconic scenes, that of Steve McQueen’s Virgil Hilts attempting to escape a string of Nazi soldiers by jumping a motorcycle over a barb-wire barrier.

MONday’s Quizzler is….
A couple with teenage, twin daughters was finding it difficult to keep track of their daughters’ dating lives. Kiri, who was sweeter and quieter than Kaylie, was dating a football running back named Jared. Kaylie, who was rather wild, was currently dating a drummer named Dave. Dave drove a small, black car with white fangs painted on the side, had a nose ring and always sported several henna tattoos. Although clean-cut Jared, who dressed more conservatively, seemed like a nice boy, their parents were still cautious. They were ever vigilant about who was coming and/or going. The rule was: no boys in the house when Mom and Dad aren’t home.
One rainy afternoon, the parents went to the mall for some shopping. Upon returning, they found evidence that a boy had been in the house while they were out. Three glasses, with just the ice left in them, sat on the kitchen counter. The parents assumed two of the glasses belonged to their twins and set about discovering whom the third glass belonged to.
When they queried their daughters, each denied that their boyfriend had been over, so Mom and Dad called up Jared and Dave on their cell phones and asked them to come over for a talk.
After the boys parked and entered, Mom asked them to sit at the kitchen table for a little visit. Thus began her interrogation. She asked each in turn if they had been over while the girls were alone. Each replied no. Dave, dressed all in black, said he had been at the library studying for over two hours. The library was only a few blocks away, but he insisted he had a lot of studying to do and was too busy to come over. She noted that he was not wet from the rain, but that didn’t prove anything as he could have driven. On the other hand, he offered his completed homework as evidence that he was telling the truth.
Jared’s explanation was that he had been over an hour away in Dawson picking up a load of hay from his brother. They had tossed around the pig skin in the front yard for a bit before he headed back. He was only just arriving back in town when he received their call. Sure enough, in the back of his red truck, was a large stack of bales, barely visible beneath a blue tarp. That certainly lent credibility to his explanation. His fleece sweatshirt, with his number 22 on it was dry, but then it could have dried during the drive back.
By that time, Dad had come in the house and was listening to their explanations. He had been studying each boy carefully, pausing only a moment when he spotted Dave’s tattoo of a centaur. Nothing seemed noteworthy. He waited patiently until the boys had finished their explanations and then accused one of them of being in his house while he had been out. Who did he accuse and why?
